So you want to do something to improve your health but you don't know where to start. Let me suggest to you that you start with a colon cleanse and at the same time cleanse your blood. There is so much information on how to improve your health and every health practitioner or health guru wants you to start with his or her program. So how do you choose what to do or even how to do it?

Cleansing your colon first is what most of the natural health healers of the 40's to 70's recommended. And, this makes a lot of sense since the health and the function of the colon has a major impact on your overall health. But, when you do a colon cleanses with fruits and vegetables you also cleanse your blood.

If you go to your local health food store you’ll find many colon cleansing products and health magazines advertise many ads for colonics.

Concentrating on developing your colon health will do your whole body a favor, and you will start to be and feel healthier. Because your colon provides your whole body with vital nutrients, you can make a significant impact on your immune system and body's health.

Every part of your body, your brain, internal organs, sensory organs, muscle tissues, bones, and limbs are affected by the colon. It is through the colon that certain nutrients are delivered throughout these parts of the body by way of your blood. Can you imagine the effect of an organ that supports your brain and other body functions being filled with toxic material that has built up over many years? You can expect those toxins to be flooding all parts of your body weakening them to the point of failure as you age.

If you want to do something to improve your health, concentrate on colon cleansing. Colon cleansing can be done by always eating and living a lifestyle that gives you a natural colon cleanse. These are three things you can do as a natural colon cleansing.

  • Eat more fiber.
Fiber keeps your colon clean and free of constipation and of other disease. Get your fiber from fruits, vegetables and natural grains. Eat at least 25 to 30 grams per day to keep your colon strong and healthy
  • Assist your body during its normal cleansing cycle.
The body detoxifies from approximately 8AM to noon, so don't eat any heavy foods during this period. This is the time to eat fruits and vegetables. You may also drink fruit and vegetable juices.
  • If you’re over sixty avoid these foods.
Diverticulitis is common in over half of the US population of individuals sixty and older. If you have been diagnosed with diverticulitis avoid these foods: seeds, nuts, black berries, cucumbers, tomatoes, wheat, and rye. The seeds of these foods may get lodged in the diverticula pockets and cause inflammation.
  • Do a yearly colon cleanse.
This helps dissolve toxic build up along the colon walls. There are many great products that will do this and many of them contain natural herbs.

Keeping your colon in good working condition can save you a lot of misery (and money) later in life. With the above tips, you’ll be taking care of your colon so that your body functions in tip-top shape well into the future.
